Education Experience
Mrs. Whittaker has 24 years of experience in education, and is starting her 4th year with Piedmont Governor’s School. Prior to coming to Piedmont Governor’s School, she has taught at:

  • Reidsville Middle School (1997-1999): 8th grade Math & Science
  • Christiansburg Middle School (1999-2001): 6th grade Math & Science
  • Magna Vista High School (2001-2018): Mathematics
  • Longwood University (2015-present): Adjunct Instructor in the Education Program

What Mrs. Whittaker loves the most about Piedmont Governor’s School: 

I love to see the new friendships that are made here at the Governor’s School. I love to see the students’ drive and passion for learning and how well they collaborate together. My passion is Mathematics, and I love to share that passion with students and watch them make connections to their life. I also love when students share their interests and dreams with me and then watching them go for it!
